And this is the unit, finished.

We only need to open up half of the top to access the cables, the wheels are usefull as hell & theres a handle for harder locations.

It looks good, Its very functional, the PlexiGlass window isn't the prettiest thing around, but thats my shotty work.

I'm not sure what kind of abuse it could take, but i guess i'll find out.

The end. Total cost of project, about 180$ i think.

Very cool! I built something like this into an old military case that was originally used for transporting tank shells. It has a 400 watt inverter, a 12 volt 24 AH battery, a charger for the input from my solar panel, and the coup de grace, a mini heavy duty air compressor so I can use my air cannon in the middle of nowhere. ;)

I love the case you used! It's aesthetically pleasing, and useful to boot! Cheers!

Nice! You should post some pictures of it :)

About what w/s power to you push through it, and roughly how many shots you getting off 24ah?

I'm looking at a 600w inverter, and at least 18a/12v battery for the real version.

I'm just not sure how much i'll get out of it.

How long does it last you?

I hum, ran out of patience, depending on the power you pull from it, over 100 pops on 800w/s strobes...

Aparently, the simulated sine wave this particular UPS model outputs is not ideal for flashes and damages them overtime, Mine are still going strong, so uh, try at your own risk.

I have found, a more expensive inverter that will give me pure power, with more power to spare, and lighter/smaller. I will use that for the next version.

The downsides to that include, no AC switching circuitry.

The upsides include those mentioned above as well as picking my own battery. :)

Nice job, do you have any idea where the case came from, not having much luck looking for Pro-Case online?

I got mine from a Reno Depot, in canada.

Might try Home depot as they are similar or Rona...

I tried to look for the official vendor like product or website online to link it for you guys, but i could not find it, i will try again later.

I will most probably buy more of these, as they are particularly nice looking and effective!
